BETTERMENT/IMPROVEMENT CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED BY BBMP


Finally, the High Court has dismissed the petitions against the collection of Betterment charges or Improvement charges on DC Converted Properties, (full extent as in the OM) or those who have executed the affidavit at the time of obtaining katha for the entire or full extent,  stating that as and when the BBMP begins the collections, the charges will be paid, can pay the charges now.  The BBMP may issue a circular in this regard very soon.

FINALLY, THE BBMP COMMISSIONER HAS ISSUED THE CIRCULAR REGARDING THE COLLECTION OF BETTERMENT CHARGES FOR THE DC CONVERTED SITES WITHIN BBMP JURISDICTION.

DC CONVERTED PROPERTIES WITHIN BBMP JURISDICTION CAN PAY BETTERMENT CHARGES AND GET KATHA FOR THE FULL EXTENT.

THE BBMP IS IN THE PROCESS OF ISSUING THE CIRCULAR REGARDING THE COLLECTION OF IMPROVEMENT CHARGES/BETTERMENT CHARGES ON THE DC CONVERTED PROPERTY SOON.  IT HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED UNTIL NOW.

THE BBMP MAY NOTIFY THE COLLECTION OF BETTERMENT CHARGES FOR THE MUCH AWAITED CONVERTED SITES IN ITS LIMITS WITHIN COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT IS AWAITING DIRECTIONS FROM THE ELECTION COMMISSION.

BETTERMENT CHARGES – BANGALORE- AN UPDATE


THE SUBJECT MATTER MIGHT HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO THE CHIEF ELECTION COMMISSIONER, KARNATAKA FOR HIS OPINION (ORDERS) AND THEREAFTER, THE PROCESS WILL BEGIN, IF PERMITTED. IF NOT, WAIT TILL THE COMPLETION OF THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.

BETTERMENT CHARGES WILL BE COLLECTED BY BBMP !!!! BBMP RESUMES THE COLLECTION AND ISSUE KATHA


THE BBMP HAS DECIDED TO COLLECT RS550/- PER SQUARE METER OR  RS51.12 (approximately) PER SQUARE FEET OF DC CONVERTED LAND/PROPERTIES, WHICH ARE AMALGAMATED INTO THE BBMP(new areas included) AND ISSUE KATHA.  THE PROPERTY OWNERS, CAN ALSO OBTAIN THE PLAN SANCTION UPON SUCH PAYMENT. THE COLLECTION WAS STOPPED AS PER THE DIERECTION OF THE ORDERS OF THE HIGH COURT AND IT IS BEING RESUMED TO PROVIDE INFRASTRUCTURE TO THE NEW AREAS.

THE BBMP REVENUE AUTHORITIES WILL SCRUTINISE THE DOCUMENTS AND LEVY THE BETTERMENT/IMPROVEMENT CHARGES FOR THE DC CONVERTED PROPERTIES ONLY.  THE BETTERMENT CHARGES MAY BE PAID IN INSTALMENTS AS PER THE DIRECTION OF THE HIGH COURT.

THE CHARGES ARE NOT COLLECTED FOR REVENUE SITES AND OTHER TYPES OF PROPERTIES.

CLARIFICATION ON BETTERMENT CHARGE PROPOSAL


WE HAVE BEEN RECEIVING QUERIES REGARDING THE BETTERMENT/IMPROVEMENT CHARGES PAYABLE TO BBMP.  THE TAXATION SUB-COMMITTEE HAS RECOMMENDED RS52/- PER SQUARE FEET OF BETTERMENT CHARGES BUT, IT IS THE GOVERNMENT WHICH IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY TO DECIDE THE QUANTUM OF THE CHARGE AND IS YET TO TAKE THE DECISION.

THE COLLECTION OF THE AFORESAID CHARGES WERE DISCONTINUED DUE TO AN ORDER OF THE HIGH COURT AND WILL RESUME SOON.

THE COLLECTION OF BETTERMENT CHARGE IS BEING CONFUSED WITH REGULARISATION.  BETTERMENT/IMPROVEMENT CHARGES ARE COLLECTED FOR THE NEWLY AMALGAMATED AREAS OF BBMP WITH DC CONVERSION ORDER FOR THE COMPLETE/FULL EXTENT OF THE AREA/PROPERTY/SIZE STATED/MENTIONED IN THE ORDER.
