BDA ZONAL REGULATION – MASTER PLAN – NOTIFICATION MAY BE WITHDRAWN
The BDA has submitted an affidavit before the High Court regarding the changes/modification that would be made in the Zonal regulations in the Master Plan and as usual tried to manipulate and issued a notification totally contradicting the subject on which it had assured the court and submitted the affidavit and landed as usual in trouble.
The change in the amendments between what BDA commissioner T Sham Bhat is purported to have sent and what finally appeared in the notification which was in total contradiction to the word Bhat had given to the High Court. It is a deliberate act of the Commissioner to mislead the Government and the Citizens by such approval and notification.
The citizens rebelled against the notification and a section of the media reported the balatant violation and a contempt of court proceedings in on anvail.
On Thursday, additional chief secretary, incharge of urban development department, L V Nagarajan chaired a meeting with the department, BDA and town planning officials to discuss the implications of the revised zoning regulations.
It is also learnt that chief minister Siddaramaiah who reportedly spoke to the authorities after the exposure and sought explanation from the Chief Secretary
Now the state government is all set to withdraw the notification amending the Masterplan 2015 that allowed for commercial, restaurant and office spaces across the city.

There was also an obvious change from feet to metres – the 40 feet road mentioned in the affidavit to 12 metres in the notification which made a lot of difference in sanctioning approvals. After digging deep, officials found that the tweak has happened at a senior level, where a bureaucrat had ordered for the change in rules, reportedly to benefit the builders.
