On Thursday, The 26^th Day of January, 2012, The President of India Conferred the HIGHEST GALLANTRY AWARD` THE ASHOKA CHAKARA` to Lieutenant Navdeep Singh, who displayed his indomitable spirit, determination and exceptional bravery while putting down the terrorists and making the supreme sacrifice for the nation, laid down his life fighting terrorists during an anti-infiltration operation along LOC in Gurez Sector of north Kashmir. President Pratibha Patil presented the medal to the officer posthumously at the Republic Day parade in capital on Thursday.

THE BRAVERY OF LIEUTENANT NAVDEEP SINGH !!

He received information about the infiltration of a group of terrorists on 20 August 2011, Lieutenant Navdeep Singh gauged the likely route of the terrorists and laid an ambush at the appropriate spot. When the terrorists were spotted, the ambush was sprung by the officer himself. An exchange of intense fire ensued. Lieutenant Navdeep Singh led the assault of the terrorists from the front and eliminated three deadly terrorists at close rante. He spotted another terrorist who was approaching their position, with utter disregard to his personal safety; the officer swiftly changed his firing position. While doing so, he got hit by a bullet on his head. He nevertheless managed to eliminate the fourth terrorist. Further, displaying utmost bravery and comradeship, he pulled an injured fellow-soldier to safety and kept firing till he became unconscious due to excessive blood loss.

Agni IV Finds Pride of place on Rajpath, Hercules makes Debut, Woman leads IAF Marching Contingent for the First Time ever

A strong and resurgent India will be celebrating its 63rd Republic Day tomorrow. This year’s parade will highlight the nation’s achievements in various fields, the military prowess, scintillating display of air power as also country’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.

The highlight of this year’s Parade will be the 3,000 kms range Agni-IV missile. The Intermediate Range Surface-to-Surface Ballistic Missile mounted on a road mobile launcher is being paraded by the Defence Research & Development Organisation. The state-of-the-art missile was successfully flight tested last November. The DRDO has also put on display for the first time the 150 kms range Prahaar tactical battlefield support missile and the Rustom-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

The weaponry put on display by the Indian Army includes the T-72 tank, Carrier Mortar Tracked, SMERCH Multiple Launch Rocket System, Pinaka Multi Barrel Rocket System, Full Width Mine Plough, NBC Water Purification Systems and Jammer Station VHF/UHF. The Army’s Mechanized Columns will conclude with a flypast by the Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv of the Army Aviation Corps. The Indian Air Force will not make static display of any aircraft but its latest acquisition, the C-130-J Super Hercules tactical aircaft, makes its debut at the Republic Day Parade, with three of the six aircraft acquired from the US participating in the flypast.The Indian Navy’s tableau also glosses over its newly acquired capabilities, instead focusing on its longstanding, reliable capabilities.

“Every dog has its day”, so goes the proverbial saying and though the sniffing dogs are omnipresent at the Parade, forming part of theDelhi Police Bomb Disposal Squad and NSG too relying on man’s best friend to secure the Rajpath, this year’s Parade gives them their due, with the dogs displaying their skills in a lotus formation and a grand salute by the leader sitting on a tableau of the Army’s Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC).

The parade ceremony will commence at the Amar JawanJyoti at India Gate where the Prime MinisterDrManmohan Singh will lead the nation in paying homage to the martyrs by laying wreath. An eternal flame burns at the Amar JawanJyoti to commemorate the indomitable courage of our Armed Forces personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland. The Amar Jawan, the immortal soldier, is symbolised by a reversed rifle topped by a helmet.

As per tradition, after unfurling of the National Flag, the National Anthem will be played. Thereafter President SmtPratibhaDevisinghPatil will posthumouslyconfer the Ashok Chakra on Lieutenant Navdeep Singh of the Army Ordnance Corps / 15th Battalion,The Maratha Light Infantry.

The parade will then commence and the President will take the salute. This year’s Chief Guest in the parade will be Ms. YingluckShinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand. The parade will be commanded by Lt. General Vijay Kumar Pillai, General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area. Major General Rajbir Singh, Chief of Staff, Delhi Area will be the parade Second-in-Command.

The marching contingents of Army will include the horse-mounted columns of the 61st Cavalry, Parachute Regiment, Bengal Engineer Group & Centre, Brigade of the Guards, Kumaon Regiment, Assam Regiment, Mahar Regiment, Gorkha Rifles Regiment and the Corps of Military Police.The marching contingents of Navy comprising 144 men will be led by Lt. Commander Manikandan K. and the Air Force contingent comprising 144 men will be led by Flight Lieutenant SnehaShekhawatthe first woman ever to lead an IAF contingent at the Parade. The marching contingents of paramilitary and other auxiliary civil forces will include contingents from the Border Security Force, Assam Rifles, Coast Guard, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Central Industrial Security Force, SashastraSeemaBal,Railway Protection Force, Delhi Police, National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme. The Camel-mounted band of the BSF and the Ex-Servicemen marching contingent will be another major attraction.

Tableaux from 23 states and Central Ministries and Departments will present the varied historical, architectural and cultural heritage of the country. They will also showcase country’s progress in different fields. Nineteen of the 24 children selected for the National Bravery Award – 2009 will also participate in the parade. Five children have got the award posthumously. In the children’s pageant section, 1,200 boys and girls drawn from Delhi’s two schools, – KendriyaVidyalaya, Sector-2, RK Puram and Government SarvodayaKanyaVidyalaya, Hastsal, Delhi, besides regional cultural zones, – South Zone Cultural Centre, Thajavur, East Zone Cultural Centre, Kolkata and North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Madhya Pradesh will present dances and other programmes. Janbaz, the motorcycle display by the Border Security Force will be a major attraction of the parade. It will consist of 154 riders on 30 motorcycles performing Bordermen Salute, Side Riding, Yoga, Janbaz-1, Ladder Double, Harmony, Exercise, Pyramid, Parallel Bar, Guldasta, Karvan and Flag March under the leadership of Inspector Amit Kumar. They will perform breathtaking stunts in a synchronised and synergetic display of mind, body and machine coordination.

The grand finale of the parade will be a spectacular flypast by the IAF, with the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft participating in the Parade for the first time. The flypast will be led by a Vic formation of three Mi-35 helicopters, followed by the three Super Hercules again in a Vic formation. Trailing them will be one IL-78, flanked by two AN-32 and two Dornier, in a Big Boy formation. Next in line will be the fighters, – five Jaguars followed by five MiG-29 will fly in Arrowhead formation. The breathtaking Trishul formation comprising three Su-30 MKI would fly over the Rajpath and once in front of the saluting dais the Su-30MKI aircraft will split upwards, making a Trishul in the sky. The flypast will conclude with another Sukhoi Su-30 MKI carrying out a Vertical Charlie manoeuvre over the saluting dais.

The ceremony will culminate with the National Anthem and release of balloons.

OXYGEN-THE REAL VALUE OF OXYGEN IN OUR LIVES

In one day a human being breathes oxygen equivalent to three cylinders.

Each oxygen cylinder on an average costs Rs 700, so in a day one uses Oxygen worth Rs 2100 and for a full year it is Rs 7, 66,500. If we consider an average life span of 65 years; the costs of oxygen we use become a staggering sum of Rs 500, 00,000.

All this oxygen is derived free of cost from the surrounding trees. Very few people look at trees as a resource and there is rampant tree cutting going on everywhere which should stop.

B khata is bogus.
BBMP is bogus.

The only thing that is real is the money you pay to get this bogus piece of paper that is issued by a bogus organization.

The architect of this bogus scheme is the government of the day from the top down to the BBMP sub-registrars. Naturally, the money flows from down all the way to the top.

Which is why they let ordinary people believe that a B khata could secure their property title, collected enough revenue and decided one day to declare it invalid?

The counter argument to this would be that BBMP never claimed that it is a Khata certificate – Just that it is entry in the B register. As a government organization meant to serve the public, shouldn’t they be more clear about what the
B register means?

Of course, why would they want to be clear? All they want is an easy way to pocket your hard earned money so that they can purchase a second or thirty second BDA site for themselves.

When the same people in the government noticed that their many BDA sites weren’t appreciating fast enough for their liking, they realized that this was because the middle class could not afford BDA sites and were purchasing BBMP sites on loan. So they pull out the ‘bogus’ card and wait for their sites to sell like hot cakes (now that there are no loans for B-khata sites).

Once these revenues dry up, they will pull out the Akrama-Sakrama card, pocket hefty revenues. Then, announce betterment fees, pocket more revenues…

Now, you know why these sites are called ‘revenue’ sites?

CA final exams result was declared on Wednesday. Bhavin Mistry, cleared the Chartered Accountancy (CA) exam in the first attempt. Bhavin`s father worked very hard to educate his son and is driving an autorikshaw. Bhavin made his father PROUD. Bhavin said, “I want to become a big man and help my father. He has worked extremely hard to educate me and my brother. Once I start earning, I want to give my father some rest,” Bhavin says he faced problems with financing his CA studies but his family members pitched in and collected funds to ensure that his studies do not suffer.

National Bravery Awards- OUR LITTLE HEROES

Twenty four children from different parts of the country will receive the National Bravery Awards for 2011 from the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh at a function in New Delhi on the eve of Republic Day this year. Among the awardees eight are girls and sixteen are boys. Five Awards will be given posthumously.

The prestigious Geeta Chopra Award will be conferred on 13 year old Km. Mittal Mahendrabhai Patadiya of Gujarat who faced armed miscreants and foiled a robbery attempt.

OUR LITTLE HEROES AND THEIR SACRIFICE:
Master Kapil Singh Negi of Uttarakhand will get the coveted Bharat Award posthumously. The 15-year-old-boy sacrificed his life while helping his younger schoolmates to cross an over-flooded stream on a day of heavy rain and landslide.

The Sanjay Chopra Award has been given to 12½-year-old Master Om Prakash Yadav of Uttar Pradesh who saved his schoolmates from a burning van.

Late Master Adithya Gopal (14 years) of Arunachal Pradesh, Master Uma Shankar (14 years) of Delhi and Km. Anjali Singh Gautam (15 years) of Chhattisgarh will get the Bapu Gaidhani Awards. Late Master Adithya Gopal lost his life while trying to save his friend from drowning. Master Uma Shankar was instrumental in rescuing victims of a bus accident and helping them get medical aid while Km. Anjali Singh Gautam saved her younger brother in a Naxalite attack.

The other recipients are: Master Yandam Amara Uday Kiran and Master Suthrapu Shiva Prasad (Andhra Pradesh), Master Ranjan Pradhan and Km. Sheetal Sadvi Saluja (Chhattisgarh), Km. Divyaben Mansangbhai Chauhan (Gujarat), Master Sandesh P Hegde and Km. Sindhushree B.A. (Karnataka), Master Mohammed Nishadh V.P., Master Anshif C.K. and Master Sahsad K (Kerala), Master Johnson Tourangbam and Master Kshetrimayum Rakesh Singh ( Manipur), Late Master C. Lalduhawma (Mizoram), Km. Prasannta Shandilya (Odisha), Master Dungar Singh (Rajasthan), Master G. Parameswaran (Tamil Nadu), Late Km. Lovely Verma (Uttar Pradesh) and Late Km. Saudhita Barman (West Bengal).

The National Bravery Award Scheme was initiated by the Indian Council for Child Welfare to give due recognition to the children who distinguish themselves by performing outstanding deeds of bravery and meritorious service and to inspire other children to emulate their example. Children will get a medal, certificate and cash under the scheme and awardees will be granted financial assistance until they complete their schooling. The Government has reserved some seats for the awardees in medical and engineering colleges and polytechnics.

ROGUE AND FRAUD INVESTORS LOOTING GOVERNMENT FACILITIES IN JHARKAND

The Jharkhand government, which attracted mega investors to woo the state economy to create more jobs had signed MoUs worth over Rs 3 lakh crores, is planning to take legal action against rouge/fraud investors who have signed deals with the state and used allocated resources for profit without setting up their promised projects and an action plan is drawn against those who had circumvented norms to generate huge profits unethically.

The Government has listed several malpractices adopted by dodgy/rogue investors. After being allocated resources like iron ore mines, coal blocks, water and land, sold off their stake ‘ or a sizeable chunk ‘ to other organisations at astronomical prices and made huge profits.

“Besides, a handful of investors approached banks and financial institutions for finances using the MoU and the resource allocated as tools. A few went for IPOs and created huge wealth for themselves in the process,” he said in the two-page letter dated January 7. Some organisations, he added, also got into joint ventures in the guise of entering into technical collaborations by selling a large number of shares and made huge profits.

But the government was not averse to the idea of raising funds for setting up industries by adopting fair, honest and legal means. But, it was unacceptable for an investor to adopt wrong practices for generating resources circumventing the norms laid down by the government.

Similarly, the state would not tolerate it if investors projected the MoUs or letters of allocation of natural resources as tools mischievously and fraudulently.

The truth about online lottery

All of us who have email id`s and mobiles get attractive lottery winnings messages from alleged fraudster in the name of RBI, Google and other websites. Some of them are victims of this scandal never speak about their losses. This is a true story.

A Haryana-based RC Mishra, a Joint General Manager at Ircon International Limited is the victim of what is widely known as the ‘Nigerian email fraud’. Haryana police has now detained two conmen from Mumbai and Thane who had cheated the complainant. Mishra paid a hefty price - Rs. 51 lakh.

Recently, Mr.Mishra got an email claiming he had won the ‘Microsoft Award’ in an online lottery amounting to 7,50,000 Pound Sterling (about Rs. 5.55 crore). According to the police, Mishra replied to the mail and got a response from a person who asked him to deposit Rs. 1,49,000 for the clearance of the cheque and document fees. Mr.Mishra deposited the money in a designated ICICI bank account (in the name of Neelam Exports). Later he got an email from a person named Shoemaker, who identified himself as Clearance Manager of National Wide Bank of England. “Shoemaker asked Mishra to deposit Rs. 5,18,000 in a bank account, saying the amount was required to clear the cheque of more than Rs. 5 crore. Mishra again complied,” said a police officer from Sushant Lok police station, Gurgaon.

Mishra received a third email, this time from a person claiming to be a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) employee. A woman also spoke to him over the phone and told him that his winnings had reached India, but as his account did not have the cash limit of Rs. 5 crore, the money could not be deposited. Mishra was asked to deposit around Rs. 25 lakh to increase his cash limit. Once again, he put in Rs. 10 lakh for clearance of the ‘winnings’ with an assurance that the lottery money would be deposited in his account in eight days.

In total Mishra deposited around Rs. 51,67,000 in the various accounts of the conmen. After not receiving his ‘award’ for some time, he finally realised he was cheated and lodged a complaint with Sushant Lok police station.

“Mishra had taken loans from relatives, friends and neighbours and then paid the money to the conmen thinking that once he got the Rs. 5 crore he would repay the debt. Tracing all the mobile and landline numbers, we finally arrested the two cheats, identified as Imran Ibrahim — who was based in Mumbai — and Muhajjam Abdul Razzak Ghanse from Thane,” said the police officer. Cops have booked the duo on charges of cheating and are making inquiries into whether the two are involved in any other such cases.
